We’re delighted to announce Dragonrise 2019 Teaching Team, which combines witches deeply rooted in the local as well as ‘imports’ deeply committed to, and rooted in, Reclaiming witchcraft.
Irisanya Moon
I am Witch, priestess, writer, Reclaiming initiate, and a Sagittarius (Gemini moon and rising). After discovering The Spiral Dance and Reclaiming in 1998/1999, I moved to California in 2005, where I found California Witchcamp, started to take core classes, planned rituals with North Bay Reclaiming, and then began teaching at camps. I’ve been fortunate to teach at California Witchcamp, Witchlets in the Woods, BC Witchcamp, Tejas Web Witchcamp, EarthSong (Australia), and Dragonrise.
I am committed to supporting community through ritual, storytelling, drumming, and conflict resolution, while holding space for vulnerability and courage. I’m devoted to Aphrodite, Hecate, Iris, and the Norns. I’m a writer in all of my lives, and have been published by Moon Books, Revelore Press, Llewellyn, Pagan Bloggers, Patheos, Turning Wheel Zines, and more. (I’m also working on two books which should be out in 2019 and 2020). Not surprisingly, I love coffee.
I am so excited to return to Dragonrise this year, and to step into the magick of the Untamed Heart.

Fortuna
Fortuna Sawahata is a witch, mystic, and cartomancer with a degree in Fine Arts. Born in L.A., educated in Seattle and a resident of the Netherlands since 2003, she has taught at Reclaiming Witch Camps in the UK and continental Europe, as well as weekend workshops in Reclaiming Core courses – Elements, Iron Pentacle, Pearl Pentacle and Rites of Passage – since 2007. An initiate in several lines of traditional witchcraft, Fortuna brings the truth, beauty and power of magic to clients through Tarot and Lenormand readings, personal ritual, guided trance and one-on-one and group trainings. She is forever grateful to her many teachers and allies over time and from all the realms – including T. Thorn Coyle, Raven Edgewalker and Camelia Elias on this plane – for persistently prodding her into remembering magic…
She is also so delighted and excited to be returning to WildWays and teaching at Dragonrise in 2019, and cannot wait to delve into the glorious (and slightly oogly-boogly) magic of The Untamed Heart with the beloved Dragonrise community.
She is proud to be part of the recently-released book on Reclaiming magic ‘Elements of Magic: Reclaiming Earth, Air, Fire, Water & Spirit’ edited by Jane Meredith and Gede Parma of Reclaiming Australia; and the tricky little Tarot book ’21 + 1: The fortuneteller’s rules’ published by Eye Corner Press. Woody Fox
I’ve been an initiated witch for 40 years, first taught by the Fae and later initiated into Wicca and trained in Celtic shamanism. I am a devotee of the God Cernunnos and I am a Seer, working with the Fae, spirits and (mainly) European Deities.
I helped co-create Queer Pagan Camp as well as the Cernunnos camp, both in the UK. I have created and co-created and facilitated rituals, workshops and pagan celebrations over the years and have attended Reclaiming Witchcamps in the U.S, Canada and the UK.
I am a queer cis man who delights in diversity, and by trade I am a willow sculptor and children’s illustrator.
I have been an activist for animal and human rights (both physical and magical) over the decades and my passions are the Earth, all of its inhabitants and their right to freedom and equality.
I am very happy to be a Student Teacher at Dragonrise and I hope to be able to encourage, enable and support all our campers.
Loupgarou
I am a witch, priestess, writer, musician, a Radical Faerie (I was given my faerie name Loupgarou at Short Mountain in Tennessee) and one of the founders of Queer Pagan Camp in the UK ( now 20 years old). Initiated in the Ninth Wave tradition in the UK some 26 years ago (which is based on a ritual drama of a nine festival year cycle with twin gods and a triple goddess who is Creatrix, Preserver and Destroyer), I have taught witchcraft in the UK to many groups – same sex, mixed and Queer.
Having been a member of Mad Shamans for some years, I am well versed in witchcraft, shamanic and other techniques such as path working, shamanic postures, journeying and trance drumming as well as traditional magics such as magical squares, knot magic, magical alphabets and scrying. In addition, I set up a 20 piece drumming group (Wildskyn) and have run trance dance workshops and drum classes. I am well versed in folklore and mythology, particularly in the Welsh and Irish traditions but also local to areas in the UK and am an experienced ritualist, specialising in making and using masks for ritual drama or ecstatic dance. I am the author of various papers which I have presented at conferences including ‘Magic is a Many Gendered Thing’ and I play piano, piano accordion, djembe, banjo and anything else I can get my hands on.
I have been an attendee at various Reclaiming camps and workshops but not taught there before. Individual and community empowerment, especially through chant and sound is dear to me and I am really excited to be a Resource Teacher at Dragonrise this year.
